Change of Plans!

Well last weekend turned out to be a little different than I was expecting. I was expecting a very hellish weekend filled with long drives and long races. Instead I was greeted with lots and lots of rain, threats of snow, and very high winds. All of this led to the Stump Farm being cancelled and me reviewing my plans. As the whole car was packed, and I mean top to bottom, I filled my water bottle and checked the computer one last time to make sure the race was still on and low and behold it had just been cancelled. Saved me a trip to Madison and further. Race rescheduled for June 6th, PERFECT as I am going to Door County that day which is 1 hour east of there so it is two birds with one stone. Instead of Stump Farm last week, I traveled over to Camp Ingawanis for the 3rd race of the IMBCS. Greeted with great trail conditions, managable drive and great competition. This race was run on about a 6.5 mile loop, with the experts doing 4 laps. Race as follows. Take off like a bat out of hell as normal to be in 4th entering single track. Cooking along the flats and spinning as fast as I could, kept up with the leaders as long as possible before being passed by a dude and put into my 5th place where I would stay the whole race until about 3/4 of a mile left. 1st lap was awesome, felt great just getting the legs moving. 2nd lap was terrible as the cramps kicked in and started to make me hurt. 3rd lap more of the same, getting off on one hill to avoid the cramps. 4th lap I finally felt a little better and started laying into it again. Ended up catching a glimpes of 4th place with about 2 miles to go in the pines. I was able to reel him in and make the pass. Held him off up the final climb even though my legs were in a full blown cramp. Finished in 4th place. Pretty happy considering who beat me. Disappointed to not come away with some cash, thought payout was 5 deep, they changed it to 3 deep. Oh well what can you do. Good race overall. Happy with the result. That is about all. Haven't ridden here all week as the damn rain has put a slick on the local trails. Hope to get out tommorrow. Race Review below. That is all! OUT!
